My daughter has been learning Piano at Laguna Niguel School of Music for just over a year now. Her sense of achievement has really helped to strengthen her personal confidence and focus her energy. She has particularly enjoyed learning from Mr. Dennis and says that he has a special way of making learning piano fun and enjoyable in a relaxed way.
We find that the school is excellent at accommodating students and families from a broad range of musical backgrounds so that everyone finds a way to access and learn in a way that is suitable to them.
The regular recitals are beautiful occasions and opportunities for character building, as well as lovely opportunities for friends and family to come together in stunning venues to witness the outcomes of wonderful teaching and learning.

This school far surpassed our expectations. The caring and highly skilled instructors cater to students’ individual needs. Dr. Frayne, director and owner, works extremely hard to build community within his school. Students have the opportunity to perform in about 6 concerts per year. These concert venues range from parents who volunteered their homes, to community churches, to outside amphitheater venues, to indoor staged concerts. My daughter learned so much from her piano and voice teachers that she went from beginner Orchestra in 7th grade to advanced Orchestra in 8th grade. Thank you, Dr. Frayne and his staff. “From First Audition to Double Degree: How Dennis Made a Difference”
Dennis is a fantastic teacher! Very knowledgeable, dedicated, and caring. I was looking for a private vocal coach/music theory tutor after I auditioned to be a music major at The Bob Cole Conservatory of Music and didn't get in. After just a few months of studying with him, I had learned SO much and developed a confidence in my abilities that I had not had before. Dennis caters lessons to your needs and desires and makes musical concepts and theory incredibly accessible by explaining/modeling them in ways that make sense to his students. I felt successful after every lesson. Fast forward to my next audition into the music program where I was not only accepted, but the audition process went wonderfully! Fast forward to today and I now hold a double degree in music education and vocal performance and a music credential. I owe a lot of that success to his patience, care, and invaluable knowledge that he shared with me. His talents, intelligence, and superior work ethic afforded him the opportunity to participate in and initiate numerous valuable projects for his peers and the community we serve. He is held in high esteem by faculty and students. Dennis is inquisitive, innovative, challenging, and relentless in his pursuit of opportunities to expand his areas of expertise. I learned I could expect from Dennis a rigorous, professional, and joyous approach to the work. He is intelligent, resourceful, collaborative, a true leader, and patient. His love for the arts is apparent in every choice he made during his time here.

Dennis brought so much experience to the table with a background in both music and theater. He learned the ropes quickly and approached his music program in a very innovative way in order to allow for the best music experience for those who wished to participate. He came in with an approach that set higher expectations, and the students stepped up. His success is measured by the quality of the events, and they were all exceptional. He is able to identify the approach needed for individual students and is able to have them make strides with an understanding that brings them to another level of learning. We worked closely on all events, but especially on the High School musical. His perspective during auditions turned out to be exceptionally wise advice. He played most of the piano score for the show which was a gargantuan task. This was in addition to working with all soloists and the ensemble. This show is outside of his normal teaching duties, and he was so dedicated. I have worked with several music teachers here, but none was as diligent about the quality of the music program for the long-term benefit of the student’s musical education. Any school would be fortunate to have him on staff. I learned much from him by watching how he handled his program and how he handled our collaborative events.
