Well, a one-day belated Friday. Yesterday was a busy Friday!

Last night we successfully completed our Theme Recital, Songs of the Irish & Springtime, with wonderful performances by so many amazing students! It was fun to see all the green outfits and costumes, and it was a joy to hear all the wonderful Irish and Springtime-themed songs and music!

Performing music for others should be enjoyable and rewarding experiences.

We hold frequent recitals and provide many performance opportunities in order to help make performing music for others easier and less stressful. Sometimes, we want to show off a big accomplishment - like a piano piece we have worked on for a long time and perfected. But we don’t have to do that! Other times, we can show the audience what we are working on, perhaps part of a piece that is not yet fully learned. And we can perform some pieces more than once — the way professionals do!

We raise our prices a little bit about every six months, mostly to offset inflation and the rising costs of everything, costs that are increasing perpetually, all the time. But we raise our prices only for new students and families.

We never raise rates for enrolled students and families as long as the students continue in lessons (stay enrolled). We mean for life, literally.

Today, Valentine’s Day, Friday, February 14, 2025, is a scheduled off-day. There are no regular lessons today. Since it is a scheduled off-day on the studio calendar, there are no make-up lessons for this day. It is part of the regular schedule.

Weekly Forum

Our first Forum will take place tomorrow morning, Saturday, February 1, 2025, at 8:15am, up in the Suite 205 Ensemble Room. Each Forum consists of two 30-minute sessions. Students can attend one or both sessions. So, students could come from 8:15-8:45, and/or 8:45-9:15 am. 

You do not need to RSVP or register for Forum. You just show up! Students are encouraged to perform, but if you prefer to just watch, you can do that, too! Time permitting, students can perform more than once.

Our Concert Performance Team (CPT) performed this past Sunday, 1/19/25, at  Trabuco Hills Post-Acute in Lake Forest. 

Last Friday, students performed at Chamber Music OC in Lake Forest on their beautiful 9’ Steinway grand piano for our first Themed Recital, “Sets of Music.” (See representative photos at bottom.) 

Wow! Some students played two songs or pieces, some students played many more (one student played 12 short songs, from memory, including knowing the set list from memory). Many were short songs and pieces, some were longer, including a few masterworks.

Our hearts long for a calming of the firestorms that continue to devastate Los Angeles and other nearby California counties. We hope and pray that everyone here is safe and healthy. I know many of us have family and friends who are experiencing this closeup. Some have had to go up there to help their families. Please let us know if there is anything we can do to help in some way.
